Many parks border the pristine Fox River, which runs through the center of town from north to south. The parks and the river are almost always buzzing with activity, folks walking their dogs, riding bikes, hiking, picnicking, playing sports, and fishing along riverbanks. Head to the hip and trendy People’s Park gastropub for a fabulous brunch on the rooftop deck. Enjoy dinner and drinks at Tofte’s Table for an elegant evening out. 

Bosco’s Social Club is a spirited bar featuring live music, creative cocktails, and corn hole tournaments. Club 400 is an iconic Waukesha dive bar; folks have been gathering here since 1948! Of course, it has had a few renovations since then, but it still features the same casual vibe, craft beer, and great music. For music, dancing, and creative cocktails, head to the Mad Steintist.

Waukesha may be a quiet town, but it’s anything but boring. There’s always something going on, and there’s something for everyone. The kids will love spending time at Springs Water Park at the Ingleside Hotel, the Horeb Springs Aquatic Center, and the Buchner Park Communtiy Pool. The Center Court Sports Complex has facilities for volleyball, basketball, and pickleball. The center features recreational leagues for both youth and adults. 

Getting out and enjoying nature is a must for residents of Waukesha. Enjoy the day strolling through the lovely botanical gardens at Frame Park Formal Gardens. Spend an afternoon strolling along the river, kayaking, fishing, or having a picnic along Fox River. Rent a paddle boat, do some scuba diving, or go for a swim at Fox Brook Park. Go hiking or biking along the winding trails along the river at Fox River Park. Enjoy one of the finest bike trails in Wisconsin along the Glacial Drumlin Trail, East Kettle Moraine State Forest Southern Unit. This wonderful, paved trail winds through farm country and rolling hills along its scenic route, and the trail doubles as a snowmobile trail in winter.
